TRITIUM ELECTRONICS CUSTOMER FEEDBACK & REVIEWS

2001 Letter
Mike,
You have clearly introduced a major advancement to Tri-phazer
Technology,
taking authentic musical sound recreation to an all time new
level
of unbelievable performance, especially to the trained ear of a
long
time musician and 15 plus year audiophile. I'm confident not even
the
artists that made the original recording would not recall their work
as
clearly, distinctly, and with such amazingly rich, warm texture. As
you
know, my Linn Soundek turntable has always been the gold standard
source
unit for my system because of the full spectrum presentation of
the
original recording studio experience, and that position may have
just
shifted to my Wadia 830. Thank you for adding the internal
Tri-phazers
to my Wadia 830 CD transport / DAC / Preamp-Combo unit, which
I
just purchased recently. As good as the 830 is out of the box, the
Tri-phazers
have taken it to a new level of incredible sophistication,
warmth,
and depth, and sonically accurate reproduction of even the most
delicate
heifitz virtuoso violin pieces.
Thank you also for your professional consultation on ways of
improving
an already great sounding system. Thank you also for the
recent
repairs to the Linn Soundek. With a sound partner like you, and
your
organization, Mike, I am enjoying my rich variety of musical styles
more
and more each year. Please take this letter and share it freely
with
other clients that haven't worked with you as long as I have. I
believe
it has been going on four years that Tri-phazers have been in my
3
cars (2001 Audi II TT, 1995 Land Rover, Defender 90, and the 1994 Saab
convertible.)
Also, my house, office, my walkman system, and my portable
CD
/ tape system used as my mini guitar amplifier. I extend the best of
continued
success to you, and the Tritium Electronics Corporation. You
have
made a continued and a major contribution to authentic and accurate
reproduction
of recorded music.

Mike,
I
have only had the speaker Tri-phazer level 15's in my system for a week
and already I am
overwhelmed by the dramatic improvement in my system. I
have spent years and
thousands of dollars attempting to tweak an already
super high-end system.
With each new improvement, I would uncover new
problems in my system.
The Tri-phazers have done what no other tweak or equipment upgrade
could ever achieve -
dramatically improving all aspects of the sound to
the end that I now just
want to spend hours listening to the music
rather than the system.
Your product is truly revolutionary and the one that every audiophile
who longs to enjoy the
music and forget the equipment should try.

Wow!.. Tritium's Ultra High Velocity (UHV) Platinum Interconnects (IC's) are absolutely unbelievable.. to say the least. I cannot express enough in words.
Do you want a major brand name or do you want to hear the music as it was intended to be heard??
I have found no cable that can match or come close to the Tritium UHV Reference Platinum IC's.. yes, real 99.99% Platinum wire is used to conduct signals. Not to mention overall solid shielded construction. These cables look absolutely cool!.. they mean business.
No networks - why need them, they roll-off frequencies and take out a bit of the ambiance and spatial detail that is essential to the truth of the music.
Previously I was a big fan of (& had installed in my system) Transparent Reference with XL Balanced and MIT Oracle V2.0 IC's.. these are now all out the door. All of my IC's are now Tritium UHV Reference Platinum's.
My friends and I still cannot believe the amazing dynamics, detail, perfect tonal balance (especially with vocals), BASS response is very fast, tight and controlled, sound stage depth, imaging is perfect, 3D or holographic sound at times (depending on recording). Frequency range and resolution is phenomenal.
This is the closest to the clarity of live music you can get without going out.
I play (mostly on vinyl) Jazz, Acid-Jazz, Cuban Jazz, Funk, R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop & House music. Almost the full spectrum!
It gets better, I have only had these cables for over a week. My system and the cables are still adjusting, I cannot imagine what it would be like in a month's time.
Go to www.triphazer.com. There is a 90day money back guarantee.. speak to Mike, he is a great guy to work with and will look after you.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions & no, I don't work on commission. Only when credit is due do I review something worthwhile.
Cheers,
James (a.k.a JFunky7)

Audiogon Review by Audiojerry
I wanted to let folks know about recent modifications and cable from Tritium Electronics, and how they affected my system.
First, my system before the
latest insertions from Tritium:
Amp: Audio Research VT200 - 200wpc
tube amplifier modified by Tritium Electronics. I initially brought it
in for a repair, but Mike of Tritium convinced me that there were
certain areas, primarily in the feedback loop, that could be
significantly improved, so I agreed to his modifications. Not only did
he repair it flawlessly, but I got back an amp that shamed its prior
incarnation. It improved considerably in resolution and musicality, and
maintains a much more stable operating bias. It has been more than a
year since the modification, and the bias has not drifted at all. I
think this is pretty amazing for an amp with 16 6550 output tubes. I
should also disclose that part of his mod included the insertion of
Tri-phazers in the feedback loop.
Preamp: Audio Valve Eklipse from
Germany - tubed with Telefunkens
Digital - P-1A, P-3A, Monolithic
Power Supply. The P-3A has Dan Wright's Level 2 mods, Classe CDT-1
transport Speakers: Dynaudio Special 25 Monitors, augmented by 2 Yamaha
ASW-110 subwoofers (laugh if you want)
Wires - Primarily ZuCable (Mother
pc, Varial interconnects) Jenna Labs digital
Filtration/conditioning: 2
commercial Oneac isolation transformers (one for digital, one for
analog), PS Audio Ultimate Outlet, Aurios Isolation Bearings, and
Gasoline Alley damping sheets applied to shelves and components.
Secret Weapon: various types of strategically placed Tri-phazers.
A lot of folks have queried me on this product, so I won't get into it here again. All I will say is that Tri-phazers separate my system from almost any other I've heard.
The latest changes from Tritium were to my P-1A, P-3A, and Monolithic Power Supply. Mike performed what he has dubbed the 'Tempest' mods to these units. As good as my digital source was, the Tempest mods yielded wonderful improvements. The music was conveyed in a way that greatly reduced the 'digital' signature that we all recognize exists when listening to cd's, and leaves most of us wishing that we could make it sound more like our best vinyl recordings.
I then inserted Mike's latest version of cables between the P-1A and P-3A, and between the P-1A and my transport. I also inserted a second pair between my preamp and P-3A. I don't know what he calls these cables, and I don't even know what they are made of, but I believe the digital pair uses pure platinum for wire, and the analog pair uses pure silver. These wires replaced my Jenna Labs digital and my Zucable Varial. I have long touted my Varial as being my favorite cable, which replaced my previous $1200 per meter reference.
I wish I could describe for you the profound improvement Tritium cable made to my system. The most important aspect of it deals with how I became so totally absorbed in my music. I get more resolution, greater transparency, and at the same time less 'digital' signature.
The coup-de-grace occurred when I added a Tri-phazer to each of the digital connections. I am absolutely floored at what I have been hearing! The Tempest modifications to the P-1A and P-3A were fantastic. And then the insertion of Tritium's wires, followed by the Tri-phazers, resulted in increasing amounts of goose bumps, literally! I don't know how he does it, but I am a believer! Mike is a genius. He is also very trusting. Now that I've used these items in my system, how can I go back to the sound I had previously? Does he really expect me to return these items to him?

Tri-phazers (sometimes spelled Tri-phasers) are unique devices created by Tritium Electronics. They are “black boxes” that go either inline with, or between AC, line, and speaker level cables. They are available in multiple versions and models from the Tritium website, www.triphazer.com. There is a 90-day trial policy, with money back if not happy.
I have been using units in my main system for over 1 ½ years now, with only the AC Tri-phazer being a comparably recent addition (in my system now about 5 months). The system consists of the following:
CD source – Electronic Visionary
Systems modified Pioneer DV-45A universal player
Analog source – Music Hall MMF-5
table feeding a Consonance PM-1 phono preamp
Integrated amp – Pathos Twin Towers,
then Unison Unico; both with NOS tube upgrades
Speakers – VMPS 626 Ribbon Monitors
Various tweaks for vibration control
and room reflection control
The first Tri-phaser product I bought and put in were line level. The particular ones I got were “Level 25” models with RCA-terminated cables built-in (IE, in-line; some Tri-phaser’s have Female RCA ‘s on each side, to use 2 of your own pairs of cables). The “Level” of Tri-phaser relates to the extent of effects it will have: larger number = more effects. What are the effects ? Well, they will be described later; but according to Tritium, Tri-phazers correct timing or skew problems inherent with almost all equipment (my simple paraphrase).
There has been some chat about these online, positive and negative. Based on notes on the website and also chats with Mike at Tritium, these need a LONG break in (this is probably why they offer the 90 day trial). In my system, the interconnects did indeed take a long time before they settled in to be their best (or as Tritium will say, the system was settling in, adjusting as well).
The end result was MORE. More of a lot of things, subtle yet noticeable. More detail, more focus of persons and instruments, more soundstage, more dynamic capability. Tonally, the Tri-phazers didn’t seem to effect the system, positive or negative. What I got was simply more sense of being there, wherever “there” may have been.
After using the interconnects a while, I added speaker level Tri-phazers, also Level 25. These boxes had binding posts for in’s and out’s, and came with some 18 inch solid core copper cryo’d “jumpers” to go from amp to Tri-phazer. And lastly, I added an AC Tri-phazer. The AC model I bought consisted of a power strip with an in-line Tri-phazer; again these also come with male/female to use you own power cord to one component.
The addition of the speaker Tri-phazers seemed to make the most immediate difference, with the quickest impact. Initially, there was one bad effect: a ssssmearing of some sssssibilants; this cleared up within a week, though – maybe 20 hours of listening at night. Again, more of the same as with the line level Tri-phazers: strongest impact was in detail & focus, a larger soundstage, and yet more dynamic capability. I remember two specific incidents while using the Line/Speaker combination.
The first had to do with a piano recording (Nojima Plays Ravel, Reference Recordings). Once the speaker Tri-phazers were in my system a while, I noticed more dynamic impact from the notes, and a more natural decay from the notes as they were played. Having heard some beautiful piano and flute up close and personal, I can say this was probably the closest I had come to reproducing that sound in my system.
The second incident was discovered more by accident. While playing some music waiting for my system to fully warm up one night, I was sitting well off axis, but the music playing had such an amazing soundstage width, I still heard some amazing sounds coming from the system, positively spooky in its three-dimensionality. Mike told me a story of people listening to Tri-phazed systems, and walking to the back wall in between the speakers, literally with their nose against the wall. Then they turned around and just smiled !
My next experience and comment comes from adding the AC Tri-phazer. There is a recording I have, Mary Fahl’s “The Other Side Of Time,” where she does her take on Donizetti’s “Una Furtiva Lagrima” (she is not an Opera singer, nor is this an operatic album; but has an amazingly soulful voice that emotes incredibly). I have played this recording in my car, on a nicer “executive” stereo system at work, and at home; there are parts of the recording that have caused some audible distortion on all the systems I use – I thought it was inherent in the recording. A lot less distortion in the home system, but I still heard a tiny bit. However, after inserting the AC Tri-phazer, all of a sudden, NO distortion ! And no loss of dynamics or intensity at all.
This was the main difference I heard with the AC Tri-phazer; most if not all other things with the system seemed to remain equal.
So do I recommend Tri-phazers ? You bet your a** I do ! I have used them in my main system, and (line and speaker levels) on a second system. In ALL cases, with ALL equipment with which they were paired, I consistently heard improvements over time, as mentioned above. They are slow to develop, so they seem subtle. But I removed my speaker level Tri-phasers once, and it became apparent fairly quickly that a layer of “hi-fi grunge” was added back in, and it was less like the performers were there with me.
I have just very recently broken down my main system, keeping only the Pioneer unit. I have been listening to mostly headphones, so I got a simpler amp/speaker combination. That is still burning in, but you can be sure the Tri-phazers are still part of this system. I don’t have my second system anymore, and a lucky gent got a good deal on my Line & Speaker level Tri-phazers from that. But these in my main system are here for the long haul !
Some comparison notes: I am also a fan of Bybee products, and have their products in AC and line level applications as well. The Bybee's seem to provide some similar results as the Tri-phasers; specifically, image focus and transparency within the soundstage – the removal of a layer to get to the heart of the music. However, it seems the level of improvement is greater, and affects the SIZE of the soundstage a lot more, with the Tri-phazers (note: the lower level Tri-phazer models may have more similarities in effects; remember, my Line and Speaker Triphazers are both Level 25’s, pretty high). I still recommend Bybees, and use them in other areas of my main system (and a bedroom headphone system), but would recommend the Tri-phazers even more – just do yourself a favor, and let them & your system burn in !
Last thought: Mike and the folks at Tritium are great to speak with. They are passionate about what they do, so they can be very opinionated. But they are FUN, and they make some great products. Find them. Try them. And you’ll enjoy music more.

Mike,
Things just keep getting better and better. I think I've had my
speaker Tri-phazers
about six months now, and I never expected positive
changes at this distance
in time since installation. As I told you, my
system has gone through
a number of different stages, since I first
installed Tri-phazers.
First
there was a greater clarity especially from the midrange on down.
Then as I recall , the
orchestral timbres became more accurate.
What I noticed next was
an improvement in dynamics
and then apparent
loudness. These two factors combined so that I could
set my volume controls
at a lower level and still get good impact and
dynamics.
The
final change I've noticed is the elimination of smear. This is
an odd one, because I
wasn't aware that I was hearing smear. The effect
is an opening up of
orchestral textures. As you know, I listen primarily
to symphonic music. What
I'm hearing now since this latest development
is more of the sections
of the orchestra individual instruments, rather
than a "massed"
orchestral sound. At the same time, I haven't sacrificed
any of the impact of the
symphonic orchestra.
I
always thought that I had a pretty good system, double Martin
Logan CLS IIz's, a
Spectral front end, very powerful mono block amps,
and 3 PS Audio Power
plants in my system. Without Tri-phazers, it
was good, not great, but
they have transformed my system.
Thank you,
Best Regards,
Pat McGovern
